InsectGrowth Regulator: is an organic synthetic compound which promotes the disruption of development and growth in insects (examples: Gentrol, Precor, Nylar, Archer)

Indigenous: an organism/pest native to an area

Inoculative Release: a treatment which involves releasing small amounts of natural enemies which seek to colonise, reproduce and spread throughout a locality naturally

IntegratedPestManagement: (IPM) refers to a method of treatment which incorporates all available control methods (biological, chemical and physical) in a single pest management solution

InsecticideResistance: A genetic ability inherited by insects which allows them to withstand common doses of pesticides which would generally be fatal

Insect Resistant (plants): Plants which are tolerant of and/or resistant to insect attacks.
