We specialise in termites, inspections & treatment. This area is well known for termite swarms and subsequent infestations.
Here is a short video regarding alates (flying termites).
Winged termites are not hard to find at this time of year. They usually swarm around the middle of Spring until early Summer. They normally come out on very humid days after a rainstorm leaves.
Mobile evidence provided by our client
The client took photographs of the evidence, & this told us that they weren’t just flying ants, which also take flight during this time of the year.
Fortunately for them, our termite inspection revealed no sign of active termites. No chemicals were needed either, as the flying white ants had already desiccated (dried out) and had died naturally.

TERMITES
Termites play an important role in our environment. They break down wood and provide a food source for native species of fauna. Approximately 30 species of termites may cause damage to your property. Some species of termites are highly destructive and may cause serious damage to your
home before you are made aware of their presence.
TERMITES ON COUNCIL LAND
Many of our past and current clients have called us regarding termite colonies that they see on council land or reserves.
Some council claim that “termites are natural and beyond the control of Council and the removal of a termite affected tree is not going to affect in any way termite attack on your home.”
This statement is not correct as council can control termites by employing pest control technicians who are certified in termite control. Furthermore, no one says the tree needs to be removed, they just need to be treated.
They also claim that “if you see termites in a tree we won’t automatically remove it or control the termite colony. Trees infested with termites are not always hollowed out and dangerous. Removing trees with termites can increase the risk of damage to your home because without food termites will eat timbers on your property.”
It would be better if the tree was left alone and the termites within it were treated. Again, the tree does not need to be removed.
Council lastly says that “if you think the structural integrity of the tree is compromised and/or a risk of injury, the tree will then be assessed.”
As an authority, it is council’s responsibility to keep it’s residents safe. They should be doing the
own checking to ensure this.
TERMITE TREATMENTS
Any insecticides used on termites should follow the Australian Standards.
Termites are one of the most destructive pests that can invade homes and businesses. They are known for eating away at timber and causing severe structural damage, which can be very costly to repair. Here is a picture of termites attacking a timber fence.
There are two main termite treatment options that we recommend, and it is important to understand the different types of treatments to choose the most effective one for your situation.
Termidor Barrier Treatments
Termite spray treatments are the most common type of termite treatment. This method involves applying a low toxic liquid termiticide to the soil around the external perimeters and/or subfloor of the building. Termidor is then absorbed by the soil and forms a barrier that termites cannot
detect and kills them slowly. Termites cross the barrier then return to the nest, destroying the rest of the colony.
are another effective way to treat termites. This method involves placing bait stations around the perimeter of the building. The bait contains a slow-acting poison that is carried back to the termite colony by worker termites. Over time, the poison will kill off the entire colony.
Termites are small insects that can cause significant damage to wooden structures in homes and buildings.
St Clair, a suburb in Western Sydney, Australia, is known to have a high concentration of termite activity. Therefore, it is important for homeowners and property managers in St Clair to be aware of the signs of termite infestation and take preventative measures to protect their
property.
Termite infestations can be difficult to detect, as the insects often live inside walls and other hidden areas. However, there are several signs that may indicate the presence of termites. These include:
- Mud tubes:
Termites create mud tubes that they use to travel between their nest and their food source. These tubes are often found along the foundation of a building or along walls. - Timber damage: Termites feed on timber, and their feeding can cause significant damage over
time. Look for hollow-sounding wood or timber that appears to be discolored or damaged. - Swarming: Termites swarm in the spring and fall as they search for new places to establish colonies. If you see swarms of flying insects around your property, they may be termites.
- Frass: Termites in Northern Australia produce a sawdust-like material called frass. If you see piles of this material near window sills it is usually ants and never termite activity.
If you suspect that you have a termite infestation, it is important to contact A1 Pest Control professionals right away. They can conduct a thorough inspection of your property and
recommend treatment options.

Recent increases in wild fox populations have led to an increased number of cases regarding ticks, small, bloodsucking carriers of disease.
In cases where ticks were not carefully managed, diseases spread to human occupants both directly and through pets is not uncommon. Further, in some rare cases, the death of pets and/or human occupants have been noted. Our firm offers specialised tick treatments as well as a wide range of other services to match your individual pest requirements.
Kingswood was once a heavily forested area and still remains leafy with lots of native trees which house termites. Not only do termites pose a threat but invasive rodents such as possums are very abundant in this area. Possums and other rodents are commonly found taking up residence in peoples roofs, especially during the winter months. These rodents can cause damage to your house by upturning roof tiles, introducing ticks to your property and other diseases.
