Interested in pest control Seven Hills? Are you having difficulty getting rid of ants or cockroaches? Are you worried about the possible harm (and loss of property value to your home) due to a termite problem?

I still have friends from when I attended SHW primary school and Blacktown Boy’s High.
We have treatments here dealing with rodents like rats and mice, ants, many types of spiders, termites and especially cockroaches!

Cockroaches, ants, spiders and Rodents
After some investigation regarding the type of bait used by the previous firm and how much rodent bait was taken, we re-filled the stations with Selontra rodent bait.
This bait is very child and pet friendly, so it was a natural choice.
Selontra (active ingredient: cholecalciferol) is a rodenticide used to control rodents like rats and mice. It works by disrupting the rodents’ calcium balance and ultimately leading to hypercalcemia, which is a condition of elevated calcium levels in their blood. This imbalance affects their organs, particularly the kidneys and heart, leading to rodent mortality.
Here’s how Selontra rodent bait works:
Ingestion: Rodents consume the bait, either in pellet or block form, as a food source.
Activation: After ingestion, the cholecalciferol in Selontra becomes activated in the rodent’s liver, converting it into calcitriol, a highly active form of vitamin D3.
Calcium absorption: Calcitriol increases the absorption of calcium from the rodent’s gastrointestinal tract.
Calcium deposition: Excessive calcium is deposited in soft tissues, especially the kidneys and heart, leading to organ damage and dysfunction.
Toxicity: The accumulation of calcium in the organs results in hypercalcemia, which is fatal to rodents.
As for its safety for children and pets, Selontra is designed to be less toxic to non-target animals like humans and pets when used according to label instructions. Here’s a tamper proof rodent box
and why it is considered safer:
Lower toxicity to mammals: Cholecalciferol-based rodenticides like Selontra are generally less toxic to mammals, including humans and pets, compared to some older rodenticide formulations like anticoagulants.
Reduced risk of secondary poisoning: Cholecalciferol does not pose as high a risk of secondary poisoning as anticoagulant rodenticides do.
Secondary poisoning occurs when a predator or scavenger consumes a rodent that has ingested poison.
Most important it has a bittering agent added to it.
Bittering agent: Selontra bait formulations often include a bittering agent to deter accidental ingestion by children or pets. The bitter taste makes it less likely that a child or pet will consume a lethal dose.
However, no rodenticide is completely risk-free, and precautions should always be taken when using them.
To ensure safety:
- Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions and use the bait as directed.
- Place bait in tamper-resistant bait stations to prevent direct access to the bait.
- Keep bait stations out of reach of children and pets.
- Regularly inspect and maintain bait stations to ensure they are functioning correctly.
- Dispose of dead rodents properly to prevent exposure to pets or wildlife.
- If accidental ingestion or exposure occurs, seek immediate medical or veterinary attention.

Termite ControlÂ
Termites, or white ants, are one of the most typical types of pests that you can experience in the Hills area. Termites form colonies and feed on wood, causing severe residential or commercial property harm. They are one of the most harmful types of pests that can invade your home, and they can significantly reduce its property value or even make it unliveable.
Always keeping your home termite-free and reducing the risk of possible infestation requires an expert solution that will perform routine termite inspections and use effective treatment services. Protect your home or business and keep them termite-free by calling A1. Our team are the Termite Specialists.
Termite Inspections
The risks of a termite invasion are very real. On average, 1 in 3 homes in Sydney will suffer considerable damage due to a termite infestation, and almost 60% of all houses in Sydney will at one point have a termite problem.
The only way to avoid a termite infestation is a frequent termite inspection by professionals. Termite colonies are notoriously challenging to spot and might cause substantial damage before being discovered. A routine termite examination every 12 months is vital for keeping your house termite-free. In high-risk areas examinations should happen each 6 months.
When is the last time you checked your residence or organisation for termites? Trained specialists at A1 Pest Control Seven Hills specialize in termite control and inspections. Our team even perform thermal termite assessments. Give us a call, and we will be happy to discuss your unique circumstance. Remember, prevention is the best termite control answer.
Pest Fumigation Service
Fumigation is one of the most successful approaches of termite control in the USA, as they are plagued by dry wood termites that only exist there. Fumigation in America requires the substantial use of toxic chemicals such as Methyl Bromide and tenting off the house for a number of days while the pest treatment takes place.
There are a number of strategies of managing a termite infestation, including baiting, chemical barriers, and fumigation. Don’t be mislead by the term “fumigation”. This method is rarely used on termite infestations in Australia and is a layman’s term used to describe a gassing technique that we don’t use (as it is too toxic).
Gone are the days when you were forced out of the family home for hours and even days!
The kind of solution recommended is reliant on building construction and environmental conditions and depends on the species of termite. Not all methods work on all kinds of infestation.
End of Lease Flea Treatment
If you rent a domestic house or commercial building, it is essential to carry out a flea treatment once the contract runs out.
One of the most annoying types of pests in domestic buildings is fleas. The sources of a flea infestation are dogs and cats. “Grass” fleas or “Sand” fleas are misnomers for what is typically the cat flea, which attacks both dogs and cats. Pets can easily pick up flea larvae, or grown fleas from other animals. They then rapidly transfer them into the home: infesting bed sheets, carpets, rugs, and other parts of the property.
If your residential or small business property needs end of lease flea treatment, do not hold back to consult with us, a pest control business you can trust.
Environmentally Friendly, Low Toxic and Non-Toxic Solutions
A1 Pest Control uses the most current techniques when carrying out pest inspections and treatments, utilizing low and non-toxic chemical remedies that are safe for people and pets. What is the use of successful pest control if it renders the home or company dwelling unsafe for people to use after? Our company make your health and wellness and convenience our greatest concern, and we do so in a way that is enviroment friendly.
In some situations, it might be impossible to avoid to use chemicals that include certain levels of toxicity. One example is fumigation treatments for termites. Even So, A1 Pest Control has rigorous methods and process that will safeguard your health and enable you to come back to your house or organisation soon after the treatment method is complete.
